Donations

If you would like to see another SITACon you can donate through the method below, anything given would be greatly appreciated.

SITACon 2008 Has come to a close

So the convention has ended, we’re thankful to all who came, now it’s time to sleep.

I’ll get back to what I talked about in closing ceremonies when I regenerate.

Good News, Bad News, and More Good News

First I’d like to provide some info for the people who plan to drive to the convention. To start, check our Directions Page it is full with most information you would need to know, including a link to google maps so that you can get directions to and from the con. Here is some information that we think would be good to know:

  • Parking is free at the campus (as you can see on the image on the bottom of the directions page there are three parking lots that we would prefer you use.
  • Hotels are cheap, the majority of them are below $90 for a night ( Check our Hotels Page for a list of hotels in the area ). So if you are deciding whether or not to stay for two or even three days and driving back and forth to your house is too much of a hassle, take a look that way.

For those of you not driving here is some public transportation info on how to get to SUNYIT we recommend the bus because it is only a dollar and some change, we don’t recommend the taxi because it is really expensive ( around 12 dollars ) but if you are in need that is an option.

Now for the good news: we are proud to announce that SITACon 2008 will be partnering up with Viz Pictures to give away two pairs of tickets to screening of Death Note II: The Last Name in theaters!! (Click on the banner in our left sidebar to find more info about that)

We will be raffling the tickets off at end of the showing of Death Note, the first live action movie at SITACon 2008.

Now for the Bad News, because of familial emergency only one of the Raqs Attaq! girls will be able to make it up to the convention, however we know it will be a good time.

Finally for more good news, the schedule is finished!! and we will post it Thursday (Oct. 9th) in the evening so that you can get ready for Friday and the rest of the weekend.

Some things that are not mentioned in the schedule:

Registration will be at the following times on the following days:

Friday

6:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Saturday

10:00 AM to 8:00 PM

Sunday

10:00 AM to 2:00 PM

We apologize but if you do not make it by the closing times we will not be able to register you for the convention and you will have to come the following time (the exception is Sunday in which we will not be taking any more registrations). Please plan ahead as we will be firm in this. (and don’t say we didn’t warn you because we will link you to this post)

SITACon Details

EDIT: I totally forgot to list the prices for at door rates… here they are (don’t hurt me):

SUNYIT and MVCC Students get in free with school ID

With SITACon just a few short days away here is what you have all been waiting for… the schedules!!! You will notice that the Viewing Rooms do not have anything scheduled, do not worry that is because we are still receiving things from distributors (we love you) and they will be updated, we’ll let you know when. Also on Saturday the Video game room does not have anything scheduled, that is because we are ironing out the tournaments and when they will take place.

Here the short version:

Friday

Doors open at 6pm, HOWEVER… You may arrive at 5pm because SUNYIT (the college where the con will take place) is having an opening for the art gallery (which is full of anime art) so they will have snacks and refreshments. You will see SITACon staff getting things ready during this time as well.

VOLUNTEERS PLEASE SHOW UP AT 5PM IF POSSIBLE FOR VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION

Doors close at 1am

Saturday

Doors open at 10am

Dealers Room and Artist Alley close at 6pm

By the way, the pdfs look a little weird because excel exports to pdf a little funny, the actual schedules will look much better. We promise.
